What the water damage calculator does not decide
Quick answer
The on-site calculator is a planning band. It is not a bid, an insurance approval, or a moisture map of your house.

What the numbers are
The calculator asks for rooms, water category, and a few material flags. It returns a wide range so a homeowner can see why two houses with “a kitchen leak” are not the same job. Category of water, how many rooms were wet, and whether cabinets or hardwood are involved moves the band.
What it cannot see
It cannot see a slab leak, an attic tank, hidden mold in a wall cavity, or local labor rates. It does not know your deductible, your endorsement list, or whether a vendor is on a carrier program. A licensed restorer with meters in the house will disagree with any website range — that is expected.
How to use it anyway
Use the result to write better questions: How many rooms did you open? Which water category are you treating this as? Are cabinets coming out? Then compare written scopes, not hallway guesses.
What we will not do
We will not turn the calculator into a “guaranteed price” or a claims-approval tool. Those promises would be false. If a contractor or adjuster quotes a number, that number comes from their inspection, not from this page.
